If your candle has a curly cue wick, cut it to 1/4 inch before lighting. Each time you light your candle trim your wick back down to 1/4 inch. Doing this will lengthen the life of your candle and keep soot almost nonexistent. When you light your soy candle the first time, allow it to burn until the liquid wax is all the way out to the edge. A good rule of thumb is to burn the candle one hour for every inch of the candle's container. Candles have a burn memory and when you relight your candle it will only burn back to the previous melted point. Your Mountain Berry Soy Candle should burn all the way to the bottom of the container and the fragrance should be just as strong as it was the first hour of burn time.
